In school age and adolescent girls low self-esteem can manifest due to the decreased amount and quality of time spent with their father especially if prior to the divorce there was a close father - daughter bond. Many of the emotions children experience as a result of divorce lead to changes in behavior both at home and at school. Aggression and behavioral problems are common in after separation for all ages and is in response to feelings of confusion and anger. Preschool aged children have difficulty understanding what is happening to their family and experience feelings of sadness and fear. Due to limited verbal abilities, young children tend to act out in response to this emotional stress causing issues for school/child care workers as well as at home. School aged children and adolescents have similar feelings and in many instances experience a sense of embarrassment regarding their parent’s divorce. People always think of it as some far off concept, something that only happens in dictatorships or in Communism, such as in North Korea, but as Fahrenheit 451shows us, it is much closer to home than one might think. In it, people have become wonderfully ignorant to the world around them after the government bans books, and all other types of entertainment dissolve into flashes of sound and light, nothing more than a pit stop until the next bit of fun comes along. He loves his job, the brightness and destruction and hunger of the fire that consumes the books. That is, until he meets a teenage girl named Clarisse who is strange to him, a girl who thinks for herself. She and Montag walk home and she talks of everything, her family, how she thinks, how the world is always going to fast, and then at the end, she asks a question that makes Montag question his entire life: â€Å"She started up her walk. Then she seemed to remember something and came back to look at him with wonder and curiosity. Are you happy? † she said. † (Bradury, 10) After that, Montag’s eyes are suddenly opened far wider than ever before. He starts to see things in a different light, even his wife, Mildred. He starts to see how empty and ignorant she is, and wonders how she got that way and how he never noticed. He wonders how everyone got that way. He sees everyone is as empty as the woman he sleeps nex t to every night, how no one notices anything anymore except their ‘parlor walls’ and their Seashell radios. â€Å"How did we get so empty? .. Who takes it out of you? † (Bradbury, 44) he thinks after his wife cannot even remember how they met. That was when he realized he doesn’t really know his own wife. Montag thinks he loves his wife, he believes it with all his heart, or at least he wants to. However, the more he watches her, the more he realizes she is a stranger to him, and he doesn’t know how you can love someone you’ve never truly met. He slowly figures out that his wife isn’t his at all, not really, not now that he can see. When he was blind and ignorant, he had indeed loved her, but now that he knew something of the world, she became a strange creature to him. Once Montag realizes this, he becomes slowly detached from Mildred, though he still cares for her in a strange way, and though he knows he doesn’t love her in the way he thought he did for so many years, he still wants to believe he does. He still wants to pretend. When he leaves her after burning Beatty and the city is bombed, he still cries for her. He loves her even as he feels nothing. In Fahrenheit 451, Bradbury paints a picture of humanity and society that is far too painstakingly true. Most people are happier in their ignorance than they could ever be with knowledge, even as that ignorance slowly kills them. Slowly, people are caring less and less about books and and learning and more and more about the next big thing, zooming from one distraction to the next. Sky Eats Airplane is without a doubt one of the most unique bands signed or unsigned. Originating in Fort Worth Texas, they have a sound thats all their own. This band is responsible for the barely known genre called â€Å"Nintendocore†. The bands sound is a creative, crazy blend of metal, screamo, techno and electronica. The band recently re-released their debut album Everything Perfect on the Wrong Day. The album shows the experimental and creative manner that separates this band from every other band in the industry. The album has an unusual yet enjoyable mix of digital sound bites with hardcore breakdowns and grimy vocals. The song â€Å"Honest Hitchhikers Asking for Cash Handouts† shows the bands heavier side, with mainly growling and screaming vocals with heavy breakdowns. The mix of the guitars and electronic samples give this song an epic metal feel. The song â€Å"Shes Just a Glitch† shows the bands softer side. I must admit there are a couple mediocre songs on the album, but the high quality songs on the album really make Everything Perfect on the Wrong Day a great album. The band started as an experimental duo with Lee Duck on guitar and electronica tracks and Brack Cantrell on vocals as well as electronica tracks. In the late summer of 2006 the duo released their first album entitled Everything Perfect on the Wrong Day. Soon after the album was released lead vocalist Brack Cantrell left the group. Soon after Cantells departure, Lee Duck teamed up with Jerry Roush, and three members of the former Weatherford Texas band In Theory. Recently the five piece band has been writing new material as well as playing local shows in their home state of Texas. Next month Sky Eats Airplane will start touring with North Carolina screamo band Alesana. They will be playing live shows in Ohio, Washington, Maryland as well as many other places. Sky Eats Airplane will also be playing this years Bamboozle festival. The band has been able to obtain an incredible online fan base, since they created a Myspace profile this band has gotten over 3.5 million plays, not bad for a band that doesnt have a recording contract. Their debut CD Everything Perfect on the Wrong Day is available at select hot topic stores or on their website (www.skyeatsairplane.com). In recent interviews, the band said they have been constantly been recording material for a new album but they are yet to set a definite release date. Sky Eats Airplane has the potential to be a revolutionary band. Their dedication and creativity has created a sound that shouldnt be ignored by anyone.
